Braided Wig Care

Before you start, make sure your hair is braided down flat so that your wig will fit your head.

Do:      

• Take the wig out of the box and remove any protective packaging
• Adjust the wig so that it is sitting in the correct position
• Wash your braided wig with lukewarm water shampoo and conditioner and air dry
• Trim braids regularly
• Add moisture to your wigs with mousse and water
• Store your wig on a mannequin head when removed
• Detangle your wig with your fingers
• Make sure after each wash your braided wig is not damp
• Wash and condition your own hair regularly – minimum every two weeks
• Braid your natural hair under the wig so that it can lay flat
• Always try to air dry your wigs. As with natural hair too much heat will dry out the hair and make it harder to maintain

• Apply too much product to your wig – this will make it look dull, leaving it greasy
• Sleep or shower with the wig on (if possible).
• Do not soak your wig in hot water
• Do not store your wig in a plastic bag
• Do not use any heat on your wig, like flat iron and dryer.
